It started with a tuk-tuk.
From Thalassery, Kannur. Building in Dubai.
Around 2017, a banker in Dubai built a tiny auto-rickshaw.
It was meant to be a one-off, a little piece of home from Thalassery. People online loved it, and before long I was invited onto a live Malayalam radio show on Club FM in Dubai to talk about it.
That was the push I needed. I never went to art school. I learned by trying things, breaking them and trying again, usually at the kitchen table late at night, after the working day was done.
Who says kitbashing needs expensive model kits?
Today the kitchen table is the workshop of Mr. Kilpithiri Inc., a company with one employee and a very strict security droid. An empty deodorant stick became a space tanker. A table tennis ball became SEC-95. Anju's old paintbrushes keep turning into weapons.
